That is real Torono's family house near the center. So, you feel like Toronto's citizen. Fnd you need only 10 min to get to center.
The bathrooms are common. So, if you are not ready to that is not your choice.
Clean, quick response to questions, central location
Could have another bathroom, there were only 2 and I think there are 6 guest rooms
Good breakfast. Close to city center and other Toronto attractions (e.g. Cabbagetown or Distillery).
Very homey and cozy atmosphere, so much better than a chain hotel!
Bryan, the proprietor is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, pleasantly decorated and very welcoming. Clean towels laid out on the end of the bed with candy on top, nice touch. Livingroom with books and computer station, free wi-fi in the room and LARGE kitchen with all amenities. Breakfast was quite a variety of healthy self-serve foods and the place is very quiet and peaceful. VERY close to downtown, which is convenient, but still manages to be a quiet haven. Nice little oasis and will definitely stay there again when I have events or business in Toronto and don't want to pay the huge hotel rates. The Garden Inn is an excellent alternative.
The only thing I would have liked is a desk in my room, whether a fold-up one or something. There wasn't really a comfortable place to put my laptop, although the high headboard and abundant pillows compensated and I managed. The livingroom and kitchen are available but I would have liked to set up in my room. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again.
Bryan is a great host, breakfast is OK and as in any other B&B you can have a nice chat while having breakfast
the floor is made of wood and you can easily hear other guests while walking. The location is fine, 15 minutes on foot to closest metro station, it's almost in east Dundas Street and can be a little bit scary at night
Accomodation was good value, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the great variety for breakfast. Host was very friendly.
Not really a disllike - the room we had was perhaps not as glossy as the pictures online. Just more weathered in keeping with an older house. Door key was a bit sticky. Missed the chance or a tour of the rest of the house. Would have liked to see a bit more info about the immediate surroundings ( rougher area one side, no restaurants around that I found)
Beautiful house, lovely and clean and in a quiet area - it was just like staying with a friend. Brian the host was extremely pleasant and helpful - for example, I can't eat wheat and he provided wheat free bread for me. The beautiful kitchen was available to make coffee etc 24/7 and the breakfast was amazing. There was even an iron and board available for me to iron out my clothes that had got squashed in my case. Would love to stay there again!
Wish it wasn't quite so far from the subway stop, but then it probably wouldn't be so cheap!
Close to Downtown and was able to get a street parking permit from B&B very easily. Bryan, the manager, extremely helpful and obliging. Place is immaculate. Great variation at breakfast and the table was set beautifully. Room very comfortable. Wi-fi friendly.
Too noisy due to the fact that only 1 bathroom exists on the 1st floor and the floors are all wooden. Not the best value for money
I love that they were so accommodating. I liked that we could get up earlier than the stated 7am to start our breakfast. I liked the 'home' atmosphere that was there. I liked that it was safe to keep our stuff in the living room and it was not stolen.
It is in a very poor district in to. Not being from that area, I had no idea how 'run down' it is. It is a few steps away from Dundas St. There were nude bars down the street, many druggies stumbling down the street with the drunks. Some people were having sex in the park of Suter at 7pm. We had to park off Suter (about a 5 min walk from the b and b) and were worried about it; as the area is not really safe. But everything was fine. Nothing happened. We are not city girls (anymore) and things have changed. We were here for a race, so it was convenient, but I'd not be back again unless no choice.
quiet and close to downtown
The ORCHID room at first floor is very very bad. There are fleas everywhere (even in the bed). I was bitten everyday and I could not sleep at all. There is almost no room service. They do not change the towel and bedsheets in the room if you do not ask.
The house was fine. Breakfast was wonderful, there are many choices, and the staff was so friendly. Air conditioning was a great help for Toronto's summer.
The house is located in very ugly place, and walking around during the night was scary. You should take streetcars from and to the Dundas station, especially night time.
Location, good price, quiet, close to downtown, nice style for the house .
Cold shower and shortage of water but for only one of the three days of our stay.
Nice b&b, better than you would expect from outside. The owner/manager is friendly and helpful. Rooms are also nice. Breakfast all together around the same table is a nice familiar touch
It doesn´t say anywhere and although it was not a big surprise in a b&b, it should be mentioned that the bathroom is shared
